Pictures of Jonas Brothers at Dancing With the Stars thanks to NickJOnline. The boys will begin shooting their new Disney Channel series ‘JONAS‘ on September 29, reports Access Hollywood. They play three brothers in a band. But in the show, they are the ‘Lucas’ brothers and ‘JONAS’ refers to the name of the street they live on.
The boys’ real-life parents will remain behind the scenes for the new show, with actors playing their TV mom and dad. Frankie will make recurring guest appearances as the youngest brother. The show will debut in Spring 2009.

I love the Jonas Brothers but I think this is a big mistake career wise. If they want to be taken seriously by the music industry (which by writing their own music and playing their own instruments shows that they do) then they shouldn’t be taking a step back to do a cookie cutter Disney show. I know that Disney wants to make money but even executives at Hollywood Records (owned by Disney) should be protesting this. It is taking away from valuable touring time that they need to be doing right now since they just released a new album. Besides they make more money touring however Disney will make a lot of money merchandising the show and since their characters are the Lucas Brothers then Disney owns rights to it (thus the reason they are not called the Jonas Brothers). Disney is evil but smart however I think the Jonas Brothers management and record executives should do their best to nip this in the bud because eventually the Disney well runs dry and if the Jonas Brothers don’t have an adult music base at that time then their careers are over.

Ok, I’ve seen Macy (character on show) auditions on youtube, and there’s a part where she tells Stella (another main character, BF of the boys in the show) that she’s taking a quiz on J.O.N.A.S! not The Lucas brothers. They could’ve have named their band after their street, and turned it into an acronym later. Maybe. Also I heard about this Lucas thing on Access Hollywood (the site at least) and I noted three errors in it. One they claimed Joe as the oldest Jonas brother, Two, they say this info was from an “Unidentified” source, and third, this whole “The Lucas Brothers” thing. That audition [Macy one] may be just an audition, but it’s still a sample of the how the script will be.

Well, I love the Jonas Brothers, but Disney could have at least given them a better show… this really is too much like Hannah Montana (which, personally, isn’t really my thing). I have issues with Disney. They suck at stories and writing, and, as a serious writer, I take offense. It will sell, true, but if only *I* would have been given the opportunity to write the script…! It would be way different. And the dialogue would be so much better than what Disney dishes out. Sorry, but I rant, and Camp rock made me angry. I couldn’t even tell if they were halfway decent at acting or not. NO ONE could have sounded good with that script. DX<
