Here is a small portion of an article from “Market watch”
Miley, star of the wildly popular Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, will celebrate her milestone birthday with family, friends, fans and special guests from Youth Service America, an organization that shares her passion for promoting youth volunteerism.
In one of the evening’s big highlights, Disney CEO Bob Iger will present a special gift of $1 million to Youth Service America on behalf of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney has worked with YSA since 2004, providing “Disney Minnie Grants” to support youth-led community service projects that engage young people between the ages of five to 14 from around the world.
“On behalf of everyone at Disney, I’m happy to wish Miley a very happy birthday and celebrate this special occasion with a donation to Youth Service America,” Iger said. “We’re delighted to have Miley join in Disney’s great legacy of giving back through volunteerism while encouraging kids everywhere to do the same.”
As you can see $1,000,000.00 of the $1,250,000.00 from the sale of 5000 ticket at $250.00 each went to charity. The rest, approx $20.00 per ticket most likely went to Disney to pay for the cost of the event. I doubt that Miley got anything. Her compensation from Disney was most likely the party itself. It was Disney’s idea to have the party and it was Disney’s idea to close the part. Miley goes to Theme parks all the time and they aren’t closed down to other customers, so I highly doubt that Miley had anything to do with the Part being close, it was Disney’s Idea to insure that everyone who attended and got to be at the party paid the fee they were charging so they could recoup the money they gave to charity.
Once again Disney, used Miley to their own gain, and once again, people who don’t get all the fact, try to blame Miley. She’s under contract and really has little say in what events she has to attend and who gets invited. I am sure however, that she had no real problem with this event, since it involve a charity donation and she always support charities.

I wish everyone would stop trying to inject their own opinions into their relationship. I’m sure both Miley and Selena are capable of resolve any conflict “if any” between them. be from what I’ve seen, they don’t have any real problems. It’s their fans, and mostly haters.

Took my daughter and her friend to the party. Disney closed only 3 hours early, and the Gay Pride rented out all of California Park until 11pm, – so get over it. We were in the front fow for the singing and the birthday candle thing – I just kneeled down so the children could all see. Miley’s people rented out Disney, paid for it, and the money went to her chosen charity, some Youth Thing, so talks about constantly. The party was basically 3000 parents and 2000 children, that was it. It was still full of securtiy, which was probably another 1000 people and she had her birthday early, so she didn’t interfere with vacationer’s Christmas Plans. The beautiful thing about this world is, if you don’t like it, don’t listen, or don’t go.
I could’ve wasted $250 in one day at the mall, but my daughter will always remember seeing her, and being on the website video etc.
It’s nice some people that have 1/2 a brain are positive. “She donated $1 Million to charity last sunday, how much did you whiners give?
